At
South Jersey's original Paint
Your Own Pottery Studio,
there is a print by Sark on the studio wall known as “How To Be An Artist”.
Some of the ways mentioned by the author are: Plant Impossible Gardens, Stay
Loose, Entertain Your Inner Child, Celebrate Every Gorgeous Moment and Giggle
With Children. We think that all of these are possible at
Our studio is fully stocked with all kinds of sponges, stencils and incredible
stamps so even the artistically challenged can complete pieces of art that
they are proud to claim. You really can “plant an impossible garden”
of flowers or fruits on your piece using our incredible stamps or stencils.
You can even trace images on your pieces from our books. Why not trace your
dinnerware pattern on to a large platter or small vegetable bowl?
For
those of you who have not experienced a
Paint Your Own Pottery Studio yet, it is quite different
from the old style ceramic studios. The studio is cozy and inviting. Customers
tell us that they walk in and feel inspired to paint by the overall feel of
our studio. It is free of the dirt and dust found in the old studios since
the pottery has already been fired and the messy cleaning has been done for
you. There are many designs and pieces to choose from, well over 400 items.
You'll find functional items such as dinnerware, bowls, picture frames and
candlesticks plus lots of items for the kids to paint. There are piggy banks,
covered boxes, cats, dogs, pirate banks, dragons, turtles and frogs. We add
new pieces constantly to keep you interested.
Our
customers tell us over and over again that pottery painting is a stress reliever.
They truly forget their problems while focusing on their piece of art. Plus
it is a wonderful family activity. We see entire families painting, mothers
and sons who visit us weekly, lots of moms and daughters and dads too! Plus
grandparents come paint with their grandchildren. Our youngest customers are
infants (footprints and hand prints for grandparent gifts) and our oldest
are senior citizens. It is truly a great social activity. You can bring food
and drinks (including wine & beer) with you and make a party of any outing
at
We
now sell Pepsi, Iced Tea and Water. For those who want coffee or hot tea,
we have 2 great coffee shops within
walking distance of our studio and numerous restaurants. So stop in and bring
it with you. Come and enjoy!
We
are loving our incredible new location in Collingswood.
We moved in July 2007 to 602 Haddon Avenue
in the new LumberYard Condominiums in Collingswood. Our studio
is absolutely gorgeous! It is spacious with lots of windows - the perfect
atmosphere to inspire our painters. You can go to the link at the top of
this page for directions. Our phone number is 856-833-1330.
Miss Kimmy decorated the walls of our new studio. She has renamed our Design Center - INSPIRATION STATION. Our Paint Cabinet now sports the phrase: Pick a Color... Any Color. We have tried hard to keep the cozy, warm feeling of our old studio but bring in the bright, fun feeling of our new studio and I think we accomplished this. On a cold wintry day, the light and warmth from our windows and all of the bright colors inside our studio, will make even the most timid painter feel like painting with us. We are truly happy in our new studio and love being in Collingswood. It feels like home. My great, great Aunt Sallie built a home in Collingswood in 1900 - the first house on Frazier Ave. The home remained in our family until 1995 after my Grandmother died. I lived on Stokes Avenue when I was first married and then again on Lincoln Avenue a few years later. Kim spent her early childhood here so we both feel like we have come home. We are thrilled to be part of the Collingswood community. I am sure that my grandparents and parents are all looking down on us with big smiles.
We have also added an area to our new studio that we like to call Ryleigh's Corner. When your child is done painting, the kids can play with Ryleigh's toys, maybe even watch a DVD while you finish painting your piece. We just ask that you clean it up when you are done.
Regular Sitting Fee: $6.00 flat for all children under 12 years old and $8.00 flat for all adults and children 12 and older.
